Viewgram Terms of Use

Please read these terms before using Viewgram. By tapping Agree and Continue on first launch, or by continuing to use Viewgram, you agree to these terms and to the Viewgram Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. Who provides the service

Viewgram is provided by VIEW TECH LTD（Company No. 17054082，England and Wales） ("we"). Contact email: support@viewgram.org. Website: https://viewgram.org.

Viewgram is a third-party app built on the open-source Telegram client that makes it easier to browse and play what you can see on Telegram. Viewgram is not an official Telegram app and is not affiliated with Telegram. You need a Telegram account to use it. The account, messages and media are provided and managed by Telegram, and Telegram's Terms of Service (https://telegram.org/tos) and Privacy Policy (https://telegram.org/privacy) also apply. Any restriction, ban or change of service by Telegram is outside our control.

2. You must be an adult

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher) and must meet Telegram's age requirements for registering and using an account. Viewgram is for adults and is not directed at minors. We run no age verification of our own: the age requirement relies on your own declaration and on Telegram's rules. If you do not meet these conditions, stop using the app and uninstall it.

3. Account and security

  • Viewgram has no account system of its own; you sign in with your Telegram account. Keep your phone number, login codes and two-step password safe; you are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • The sync key used for cloud sync is kept in your iCloud Keychain; whoever can access your keychain can access the corresponding cloud-sync data.
  • We cannot recover your Telegram account and cannot delete it for you.

4. Content

4.1 Content comes from Telegram

The channels, groups, messages, photos and videos you see in Viewgram come from other users, channels and groups on Telegram. We do not provide, review or store them, and they do not represent our views. Whether content can be viewed is decided by Telegram's rules, for example the restrictions Telegram applies to certain channels, groups and content by platform, region or server flag, and any age verification Telegram requires. Viewgram adds no age or adult-content restrictions of its own and does not judge for you whether a channel suits you.

4.2 Content may be disturbing

The channels and groups you join may contain adult, disturbing or unlawful material. You decide what to watch and what to join. Viewgram offers "Not interested", "Don't show this channel / group" and "Hide & Filter" to remove what you do not want from your recommendations and lists; they affect only what is shown on your own device.

4.3 Our position on objectionable content

We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation and abuse material, non-consensual sexual content, harassment and hate directed at others, and other unlawful content. Viewgram does not host such content, but you must not use Viewgram to look for, spread or store it. If you come across such content or abusive behaviour you can:

  1. choose "Report" in the video page's "..." menu (or long-press the picture) to report the content to Telegram through Telegram's own report flow; the reported video is hidden from your recommendations at the same time. In chats you can also use Telegram's report, block-user, leave and delete functions;
  2. choose "Not interested" or "Don't show this channel / group" to remove it from your recommendations and lists;
  3. tell us through Settings › About & Feedback › Send Feedback or by email at support@viewgram.org. We will look at it within 24 hours and act within what we control, including hiding a source by default in the app, stopping our backend services for you or for a session, and reporting to Telegram or the authorities.

Please note that Viewgram cannot remove content on Telegram or ban Telegram users; only Telegram can.

5. Viewgram Pro subscription

5.1 Free and Pro features

On the free plan, playback and other basics match stock Telegram. Viewgram Pro adds the following on top (the purchase page and the App Store product page are authoritative for the final list):

  • live subtitles: Chinese, English and Japanese subtitles made on your phone while you watch (recognition runs on your device; the speech model downloads on first use);
  • video acceleration: big videos start sooner and stall less;
  • more time windows: browse the feed by 1 hour up to 30 days, or the two-week hot list;
  • channel hot lists: a channel's most popular posts by 24 hours, 30 days or all time (the 7-day list is free).

The video progress-bar heatmap and cloud sync are not part of Pro: they are free for everyone, on by default, and can be switched off in Settings (heatmap: "progress-bar heatmap"; cloud sync: Settings › Watching › Cloud Sync). What data they send is described in section 5 of the Viewgram Privacy Policy.

Telegram Premium and Viewgram Pro are two separate subscriptions; neither includes the other. Viewgram does not sell Telegram Premium; Telegram provides and bills it.

5.2 Price, payment and auto-renewal

  • Prices and periods are the App Store product information shown on the purchase page. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID account within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the subscription price at that time.
  • If you buy a subscription during a free trial (if offered), the unused part of the trial is forfeited; when the trial ends, the plan you chose starts billing automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time after purchase in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions (App Store account settings), or from Settings › Viewgram Pro › Manage Subscription in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
  • Restore purchases: tap "Restore purchases" on the paywall to recover what you bought with the same Apple ID.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we cannot refund directly.
  • After you cancel, Pro features remain available until the end of the paid period, then are switched off. Cloud sync is not affected, and data already synced to the cloud is kept until you delete it or the retention period in section 9 of the Privacy Policy is reached.
  • The subscription belongs to your Apple ID; one subscription serves one Telegram account at a time, and tapping "Restore purchases" on another Telegram account moves it to that account.

6. Rules of use

You must not:

  1. break the law, or use Viewgram to commit unlawful acts;
  2. interfere with, damage or try to gain unauthorized access to Viewgram's or Telegram's services, servers and networks;
  3. scrape or crawl our backend in bulk, or forge requests (including forged device identifiers, membership status or heatmap data);
  4. stress-test our backend interfaces or get around rate limits or access controls;
  5. use Viewgram to look for, spread or store child sexual exploitation material or other illegal content, or to harass others;
  6. resell or rent out Viewgram Pro accounts or entitlements.

If you break these rules we may restrict or end your access to our backend services (including membership benefits and cloud sync); this does not affect your Telegram account.

7. Open source and third-party components

Viewgram is a modified version of Telegram for iOS (GNU General Public License version 2, GPLv2) and is also released under GPLv2. Other open-source components and models in the app are under their own licenses, including sherpa-onnx (Apache-2.0), ONNX Runtime (MIT), SenseVoice-Small (FunASR model license, attribution required), ReazonSpeech k2 v2 (Apache-2.0), Silero VAD (MIT) and FFmpeg (LGPL v2.1). See Settings › About & Feedback › Credits & Licenses in the app.

  • Where to get the complete corresponding source code of this version: https://viewgram.org/source/. You can also ask for it through Settings › About & Feedback › Send Feedback and we provide it free of charge (at most the actual cost if physical media has to be sent). This offer is valid for at least three years from the release of this version.
  • Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have in the corresponding source code under those open-source licenses. The Viewgram name, icon and brand assets are not granted by those licenses.

8. Intellectual property

Subject to section 7, the Viewgram brand (name, icon, folded-V mark) and the interface and content we created ourselves belong to VIEW TECH LTD（Company No. 17054082，England and Wales）. Rights in what you see on Telegram belong to their respective owners.

9. Privacy

How we handle data is described in the Viewgram Privacy Policy. At any time you can delete most of the data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, in Settings › About & Feedback.

10. Disclaimer

Viewgram is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no express or implied warranty and accept no liability for: interruptions, data loss or account restrictions caused by Telegram, the network, Apple, Cloudflare, Supabase or other third parties; the content you see on Telegram; or the accuracy or completeness of heatmaps, subtitles, translations and recommendations (subtitles and translations are generated automatically by models and can be wrong).

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use Viewgram; our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid us for Viewgram Pro in the twelve months before the claim arose (nil if you paid nothing). Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; there they apply only as far as the law permits.

12. Changes to the service and termination

We may change, suspend or stop some or all features (including Pro features) at any time and will try to announce material changes in the app in advance. You can stop using Viewgram at any time by deleting the app. We may restrict or end your access to our backend services if you break these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Updates are published in the app and on the website with a new "Last updated" date and version number; for material changes the agreement screen is shown again in the app and your agreement is needed again. Continuing to use Viewgram after a change means you accept the new terms.

14. Apple's standard license

Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies. Apple is not a party to these terms, is not responsible for Viewgram or its content, and has no obligation to maintain or support it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, have the right to enforce them against you as third-party beneficiaries.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising from them go to the courts of England and Wales. Mandatory consumer-protection law of your place of residence applies where it gives you rights that cannot be waived.
